James plays host to "amazing" Quad Dash

Quad Dash Sumo
Tuesday, 9th June 2009
Hundreds of people attended James College’s Quad Dash on Saturday, which saw sumo wrestling, a bouncy castle and a tug of war, as well as the traditional dash around the quads.

Other events that took place during the day included a breakfast from the Christian Union, giant Jenga and Connect 4. In the evening, Quad Bash was held in Wentworth Edge. Over 200 people attended the evening event, which featured music from SimonSays and Sergeant Luke in the form of a silent disco.

Charlotte Coyle, an Ents Rep for James College, said: "The day event went really well, although it started off with a bit of rain and we were worried that we would have to close down. The sun saved the day."

Coyle added: "Dash and Bash were amazing, the James JCR worked so hard to provide an epic day and night and we managed to achieve just that."

SimonSays agreed that the rain almost ruined the day, but said that "James's notorious college spirit shone through making the Quad Dash a great success and good times were had by all".

SimonSays called Quad Bash “insane”, and added: “A well attended silent disco put the musical stylings of campus superstars SimonSays and Sergeant Luke against each other to dramatic effect. Doorsafe were unable to hold back the furiously demanded encore.”

Munro Robertson won the boys’ Quad Dash, and Kate Copson won the girls’.
