Commemoration event organised for Ben Martin

Ben Martin
Sunday, 28th June 2009
Friends of Ben Martin, the third-year history student who passed away during the Christmas holidays, have organised an informal event to commemorate his time at the university.

The event will take place on Tuesday at 4pm, in the Alcuin College JCR. Anyone who is interested in doing so will be invited to stand up and say a few words about Ben. After these speeches, tea and coffee will be provided so that friends of Ben can catch up with each other.

In a message sent through the History department and Alcuin College administrators, event organisers Edward and Erik said: "We hope that this will be a way for us all to remember Ben amongst our friends before the end of the year." They added that any and all are welcome.

Ben passed away in his home on 1st January.

Anyone who has a request, question or idea should contact Edward on 07919 103858, or Erik on 07907 567987.
