Fusion releases promotional video

Fusion 2010
Fusion
Tuesday, 2nd November 2010
Last week, Fusion, York University’s society of dance, modelling and fashion released a promotional video to advertise opportunities to get involved in this year’s performance. The society needs dancers, models, dressmakers and designers to make up this year’s cast and creative team.

President Fiona Lavelle urges anyone to come along to auditions, which are taking place in Weeks 5 and 6, as university is ‘a time to make new friends, try new things and get out of your comfort zone’.

For the first time, Fusion will be a three night performance, taking place on the 4th, 5th and 6th of March 2011. This will allow the society to increase the amount of money they raise for their RAG beneficiaries, and allows the cast an extra night to perform, which, given the amount of time they spend rehearsing, only seems sensible.

When asked what made her want to become president of Fusion, Lavelle puts it down to fact that it was the first society she got involved with at university, and helped her make friends, improve her dancing and feel at home at university. As a choreographer in her second year, Fiona got a taste of what it was like behind the scenes and decided that she wanted to get more involved.

Tim Ngwena, YUSU president, describes it as being ‘one of the best, if not the best, show on campus’. So what have you got to lose? Make the most of your time at university, and get involved.
