Langwith election results

langwith
Friday, 10th December 2010
On Tuesday evening, amid a tense atmosphere in the top floor of Yates’ bar, the results of the Langwith 2010 JCRC elections were announced.

Of the three candidates running for chair, Cem Turhan was elected. He said of his victory ‘When I found out I won I was in total shock, and elated. I'm really proud and honoured to be elected Langwith Chair, especially as I had such great competition in Tom Bourne and Andy Green who are both amazing guys’.

Turhan said that his immediate plans concerned welfare provision within the college, saying he believed that ‘having good welfare provides a strong backbone needed for any supportive college, and welfare is something really close to my heart’.

However, not all the positions on the JCRC were filled, so Turhan is encouraging anyone in Langwith to run in the bi-elections for positions left open.
