Wednesday, 22nd June 2011
This weekend saw the final RAG events of James College take place.

The RAG Wax took place on Saturday afternoon, where every member of the James JCRC team had their legs waxed on the main stage of the Quad Dash, as well as some other boys from the college.

Students who made a donation to RAG were entitled to pull off a wax strip.

Second year student Charlotte Judge said that the RAG Wax was "one of the most successful parts of the day" due to the huge crowd that gathered to watch. £192 was raised.

The Bachelor Auction then took place in the evening.

Six ‘bachelors’ were auctioned off, who were David Sharp of MQs, Jonathon Hare (who was last year’s head of RAG), Bob Hughes (who was James’ Welfare Officer last year), Sam Asfahani (YUSU Sports Officer and confirmed bearer of the Olympic Torch), Tim Ngwena (YUSU President) and Andrew Clemo, finalist of University Challenge.

Clemo received the highest bid of £70.

The overall total raised on the day was £427.07.

James JCRC chair Emma Bartlett said that she was "extremely proud of the generosity and James College spirit throughout the day."

James College came joint first with Vanbrugh for the RAG cup, and second for the volunteering cup.
