The 24 event is underway
Sunday, 2nd December 2007
Comedy society has begun a twenty-four hour entertainment marathon to raise funds to get to the Edinburgh fringe festival.

The free event, in Vanbrugh V/045, runs from 6pm on Saturday, 1st December until 6pm the following night and includes over twenty acts.

It is one of a series of fundraising ideas to help set up two shows at the next Edinburgh fringe festival, which begins on 3rd August 2008.

Drama Society have performed at the world famous festival in previous years. Comedy Soc aims to raise about £7000 before August to rent a venue for the entire month and cover travel costs.

Comedy soc chair Edd Robinson said: “I suppose it was my idea. We’ve been discussing it since the start of term and it’s snowballed. It’s going to be a big event in terms of the number of people, the number of acts, the number of everything so there is something for everyone, so people should come down.”
