Halifax is the first college to announce their new JCRC committee of for 2007-8.

David Sharp, a Management student, was elected as President. He spoke to The Yorker about his election.

Sharp said his first priority will be to get more minor event licences for JJ's, Halifax's bar.

“I want to get a lot more minors in JJ’s. At the moment we only have three late licences a term, and other than that there’s just the bar quiz... We have got quite good live music, R'n’B and indie and we'll maybe try to get Indie Soc down and involved.”

The Halifax Committee for 2007-8 are:

Vice President : Ayodele Alakja and Adrian Das

Treasurer : Christopher Dixon

Entertainments Officer : Harriet Sudbury, Frances Bernhardt, Joseph Hufton, Andrew Brown
