2. Why are you running?

AD: Students' wellbeing needs to be represented.

CL: Natural-passion, experience, don’t like walking!

MP: To make students’ lives better.

3. The best thing done for students in my time at York has been...

AD: The security escort service provided from porters lodges, although I would like to see it opened up to all who need it.

CL: The compensation obtained for the state of student kitchens last year was a great achievement. It shows what we can do when students, JCRCs, and YUSU pull together.

MP: The improvements to many of the kitchens on campus – largely due to pressure from YUSU.

4. I think the best thing about the city of York is...

AD: Rowntree's Park - it's such a beautiful place to unwind under the summer sun!

CL: The people and it’s size. I love the community but also the fact that people can have the space to develop and what you do can actually make a difference!

MP: It’s small friendly and relatively quiet, but only a short train journey from the nightlife in Leeds.

5. In a crisis the first thing to give someone is....

AD: A shoulder and an open ear in order to give the person in crisis time to establish their feelings, and find a solution suited to their needs.

CL: I would like to say a big hug but it wouldn’t always be the most useful or appropriate thing. I’ll go for…an ear or two; you can’t help unless you know what someone wants or needs.

MP: A hug, and to listen to them.

QUICK-FIRE:

  • ER/Casualty: AD: ER, CL: Casualty, MP: Scrubs
  • Tea Coffee: AD: Tea, CL: Tea! I'm a Yorkshire lass, MP: Tea (Earl Grey)
  • Custard cream/Hobnob: AD: Custard Cream (even though they're soggy when dipped in tea), CL: Hobnobs - 'the marines of the biscuit world!', MP: Hobnobs
  • Academic/Welfare: AD: Welfare, CL: Wacademic Acfare, MP: Academic
  • Lillies/Roses: AD: Roses, white of course!, CL: Lillies, MP: Roses

6. My favourite shoes are...

AD: My dress shoes for formal balls.

CL: I hate shoes! Polka dot flip-flops from accessorize or bear-claw slippers.

MP: My lovely bright blue ones.

7. My first childhood memory is...

AD: A long time ago!

CL: I imagine my babysitter to be a cardboard fox from "Aesop's Fables" - but I can't remember her face. I remember we were outside and she was bouncing a ball, and I really wanted to be able to do it, but it was a mystery to me!

MP: Visiting my grandparents in England when I was about four. I think I thought England was quite exotic at the time.

8. The book and movie that have left the biggest impression on me was...

AD: "Homelessness and Social Policy" by Roger Burrows, as this was the book I read during my degree that has set me on the path to homelessness strategy development. Star Wars - I've seen all star wars films in the cinema within the opening week (except episode 4).

CL: Most recently, "The Kite Runner" book, and a video to a song by Efterklang called Mirador, its very epic.

MP: "The God of Small Things" by Arundhati Roy, and possibly Hotel Rwanda, because I know that the horrific events in it actually took place.

9. I spent last night...

AD: Being violently shaken by an earthquake

CL: I came back from work, made a stir fry, went to see ‘Cruel & Tender’ at the Drama Barn, Fusion rehearsals, and then home sweet home.

MP: Locked out and trying to get hold of one of my housemates to let me back in!

It's a shame that Pallas is so keen on Scrubs because I'm voting to give him a chance to complete another year of his degree
