Neighbours veteran Ian Smith - a.k.a. Harold Bishop - has left Erinsborough behind this Christmas to appear in the York Opera House pantomime.

Not one to miss out on a celebrity interview, The Yorker took a quick break from its Christmas shopping to have a chat with "Jelly Belly", Ramsey Street’s oldest resident.

We ask:

> What does he think about the soap's new, racy image?

> What happens when he bumps into Kylie?

> And is it really always sunny in Ramsey Street?

This videocast was produced by Jo Shelley and Lucy Taylor.

Jo "she's a sick woman" Shelley. How dare you suggest that Neighbours storylines are anything but totally factual and true to life

Harold is so bitchy! Clearly he is the king of the neighbours set. Also what is this about thinking that soaps shouldn't be made? oh dear Harold oh dear...

Just a quick point - those saying his little disappearance was unrealistic clearly havn't been reading the news this week! Is Harold the original canoe-man?

What a legend... a bit sad that he couldn't remember Janae's name though. He'll be saying next that he isn't a tuba-playing vegetarian.
