(See what we did there? Like the love child of ‘Got milk’ and ‘You’ve been tangoed’)

Just a week to go until the man in red arrives...

The fact of the matter is there’s absolutely no way I could venture into town and leave without purchasing at least a new lip-gloss.
So it was with more than a little apprehension that I set off for Kings Manor. (For anyone who has never needed to journey as far as the University’s city centre premises it may be worthwhile bearing in mind that, between there and campus, an entire high street of shops lie in wait.) I knew it would be risky but I truly believed that if I set off before the shops opened, grabbed my book and headed straight back home, no harm could be done. I came away with a new pair of shoes and a bag.

I feel it necessary to point out how difficult this will be as I happen to work in a shop which insists upon bestowing a truly excessive amount of discount upon my reluctant shoulders. I should also like to emphasise that when I mentioned this plan to friends and family I was greeted by either utter silence or hysterical laughter, very supportive!
But I am resolved. I will prevail and I will share my sufferings, which will of course end in joy.
p.s As I am not officially starting this ‘fast’ until November 1st I was of the opinion that I would not be breaking any rules by investing in a practically perfect Oasis coat. Apparently not …
