(See what we did there? Like the love child of ‘Got milk’ and ‘You’ve been tangoed’)
Laura Reynolds looks at the hype surrounding the collaboration.
Just a week to go until the man in red arrives...
10 best looks of the night:
1. Mila Kunis, Alexander McQueen – the Black Swan starlet won the fashion prize hands down with her flowing strapless dress that blended a dominant red with white and black nuances.
2. Sofia Vergara, Roberto Cavalli – The Modern Family star can’t seem to go wrong with those killer curves of hers, this time rocking a gorgeous royal blue woven fabric with just the right amount of flesh showing.
3. Julie Bowen, Catherine Malandrino – a jumpsuit is a look few actresses dare to touch ever, let alone at this time of year, but Bowen sported it with a satin sash belt and a little sparkle around her collar. This ‘70s throwback was risky but the plunging neckline made it an eye-catching winner.
4. Tina Fey, Oscar de la Renta – A usual hit-and-miss on the carpet, Fey was on trend with a strapless bright red gown decorated with intricate floral details.
5. Julia Stiles, Monique Lhuillier – Going for the understated yet sophisticated look, the Dexter actress opted for a strapless A-line silhouette which blended from navy to white descending down the skirt.
6. Julianna Margulies, Yves Saint Laurent – An eventual award winner that night, Margulies wassimple with a trendy red strapless that drew in at her bust. Sleek, sexy and totally age appropriate.
7. Jennifer Lawrence, Oscar de la Renta – The Winter’s Bone newcomer turned heads and got noticed in a shocking hot pink multi-strapped gown paired with a velvet black belt.
8. Kim Kardashian, Marchesa – I hate to give it to her, but the E! reality star has red carpet smarts (or good stylists), this time opting for a plum one-shoulder with jewelled details on the strap, breast and torso.
9. Mariska Hargitay, Isaac Mizrahi – Law & Order: SVU's leading lady went for a strapless royal blue which was unassuming but still lovely.
10. Natalie Portman, Azzaro – Accessorising her very pregnant self, the Oscar favourite went strapless and white with a little bit of sparkle – but her pregnancy glow made her one of the most stunning ladies of the red carpet.
…and the 5 worst:
1. Kate Mara, Herve Leger – Looking like a primary school project, you just can’t decide what’s uglier: the country-basket-like bust or the faux folded cardboard skirt
2. Claire Danes, Louis Vuitton – Though a nice shade, the poppy/mushroom pattern was just too busy – paired with ruffles and an out of place cheap-looking bulky belt, this was not her best hour.
3. Naya Rivera, Aurelio Costarella – This girl has the body to wear anything. So why she chose this ‘naked dress’ which unflatters her bust is a quandary.
4. Lea Michele, Oscar de la Renta – The Glee gal certainly loves this designer, but made the same mistake as her co-star and came across as flat-chested as an 8 year old boy.
5. Jenna Fischer, Fendi – The Office actress just looked frumpy and blah in this boring grey full-length T-shirt dress.
